Don Perico Mexican Restaurant in Tehachapi

Very nice Mexican restaurant in the heart of Tehachapi, as you walk in all the vibrant colors make you feel as if you were in a Restaurant in Mexico. I was greeted very well by the hostess and was given the choice to sit anywhere I wanted given there wasn't many people. They have a full bar which is nicely stocked, my waitress Edna was super nice and informed me well of the food I asked suggestions on. Now, lets get to the important stuff. I ordered the Supreme Fajitas which have Shrimp, Chicken and Steak. Not your usual huge platters form other Mexican restaurants but enough to fill you with amazing flavor. The steak was juicy and tender as well as the chicken, the shrimps were plump and cooked just right. Rice and beans were tasty... the only thing I think they can improve is the quality of their flour tortillas to compliment the delicious platter. Highly recommend this restaurant if your in the area.

It's ok, not great. Ordered two margaritas with no salt, they came with salt. Asked to get them without salt again, she poured the into another glass (we watched the bartender). She brought them over and I asked her to make two new ones without the salt.The table side guacamole was made very quickly at our table without asking what we like in it. Had about 3/4 cup of onions, normally we only have a few. Didn't like it.The main meal though was very tasty and good. Started off bad for me but finished good.

the best authentic mexican restraunt ive ever eatin at. by far the the most perfect so good we tipped both waitress and cook more than they are used to for sure.....highly recommend

Have eaten here a few times now and have had great service The food has good flavor and is fresh. It is on mild side but their fresh salsa has some heat and great flavor. Have tried different item all have been very good.I will be back.

Best Mexican food in tehachapi.

Pretty good stuff. Had the chicken wings, which were above average and the chili Verde burrito a la carte, which was stuffed was good rice and beans, but the chili Verde itself was pretty lacking in spice. Good size for the $9.99 price though. Friendly service!

I've never been to a Mexican restaurant that charges $5 for chips and salsa. Street tacos are good but the meat is carefully measured. It's kinda funny.

These people were told Rare steak...They cooked the first one well done. Asked for the boss to get the steak cooked rare. It was cold and still not rare. When we paid, told the person we we're not happy with the steak. He said. Sorry you weren't happy. We just have to find a cook that can make the steak like you like. Sorry. Come back next time... Hell no. If I ever visit this town again.. No Don Perico!!

Not terrible over priced. Decent, But definitely taste like white people made it. Carne Asada was to chunky not thin..

I really enjoyed this place. The food was excellent. Large selection of beers and drinks. They have great sports bars. Very clean place with super friendly and attentive staff. Plenty of parking spaces. Overall a great place. Loved it.

Lorena is the greatest waitress. Been going here for a very long time. They have great service.

Not satisfied as expected. I did order tacos for taco Tuesday and burrito plate as showing in the pictures,it was alright nothing to excite. Food took a long time to get to the table little over anticipated

Very nice Mexican restaurant. Great staff and outstanding food. A little on the pricier side but ultimately worth it. I recommend this place if you really like good Mexican food with a friendly atmosphere.

The food is good but don't expect too much food. I've been going to eat there for 10 years and have seen the portions dwindle. This last time I ordered a meal that was suppose to have guacamole with it and when my meal came it had none. When I asked the waitress about it she simply said they no longer give you guacamole with your meals. Last time my husband and I will be going there.

First time we went here the food was pretty good, not exceptional but good. We decided to go back recently and didn't even stay for food... We got there at a normally busy time but it wasn't very busy at all except at the bar. Every single server in that restaurant looked at us waiting to be seated; we were the only ones waiting. Finally I asked if we can seat ourselves and was rewarded with a male server looking at us, sighing and reluctantly came over. He asked how many to which I stated that we had been there, waiting, for over 5 minutes and he just said "Yeah... *shrug* How many?" So we politely let him know that we would find another place to eat and left. Seem hit or miss to me; 50% good and 50% terrible.

Great atmosphere. Good drinks & they have taco night on Tuesday and Thursdays.

Buffet hands down all you should get! Not served on Mondays because they are usually slow. Never have had a problem with the staff or anything!

Cold beer, taco Tuesdays are awesome, $1.69 tacos 🌮 NICE and Thursday’s too! I believe it’s from 3-till close so get their early cause it does get packed. Nice atmosphere and very attentive staff.

I go here about once a month to catch up with local friends. Good service, decent prices, good size portions. I love the steak nachos (my go to pick) and last time I had the don perico salad with steak... super yummy! Maybe my new favorite

2 times sent back horrible nachos..my husband got so sick and so did I 4 hrs later. Waitress didnt have a clue what a good plate should look like.. I feel bad for the people who eats there..will never go back..my husband ended up at hospital old food poisoning. Becareful..

Great, prompt, friendly service. EXCELLENT food, amazing drinks, reasonably priced... bathrooms were clean and fully stocked too. Did I mention amazing drinks? 🍹😁

Service took forever, we waited 20 minutes just to get waters and chips and salsa. Then all of our food came at different times and they forgot multiple things we ordered. food is mediocre at best, and my margarita was not good... very disappointed. Damingos Mexican restaurant is so much better in every way...

Tacos were really good, not enough onion or avacados. I like Domingo's.
